Some effective methods to reduce stress  are  performing relaxation  exercises like deep breathing, meditating, or visualizing a place you find peaceful.  There are many things a person can do
to reduce their stress ,but what works for one may not be effective for another.

Other effective methods  may include:  reading a book, listening to music, going for a walk, and using positive self talk.  Everyone is different and will  need to find activities that they enjoy doing. With these methods, one can effectively reduce their stress.

Yoga is a great exercise that teaches you how to breathe and relax which helps with fighting stress. For me a nice walk outside helps. I also like to go fishing and just get away from my computer, the TV and the phone; and just get out and enjoy nature.

One of the methods that I effectively use to counter stress is doing yoga and swimming. Both these activities can significantly reduce stress and clears our mind of stress. Further family vacations, tours can also pay a significant role in reducing stress. In the end it all depends on how we prepare ourselves in handling stress and how we overcome it successfully.

The one common element in stress reduction is how we breathe.  When we are uptight we simply don't breathe correctly.  We usually take short quick breaths that adds to the stress feeling because our body is not receiving the oxygen that it needs.  There are a lot of techniques out there that teach you how to breathe---Yoga is centered around how we breathe, as are other successful relaxation methods.  If you don't have a lot of time to  go through a long session, but need a quick stress reliever, simply make sure that you are breathing out longer than you are breathing in.  For example, if you count to 7 as you inhale, and then count to 11 while you exhale, you will quickly feel your body relaxing.  Do this a number of times and you probably can make it to the next hour! Here are some effective ways to reduce stress:

1.  Have a effective regimen for workout or some sort of a physical activity.

2.  Cold baths could effectively regulate stress since it increases the blood flow in the entire system.

3.  Eat a lot of what the call "Pranic" or "Satvic"  food.  Lots of fruits and veggies.

4.  Fasting and silence could effectively regulate stress.

5.  Prayers is another means to regulate stress

6.  A hearty chat with a close chap could help as well

7.  Listen to your emotions.  Holding back your emotions could be very stressful.  so If you feel like crying.. cry and if you wanna laugh do laugh.

8.  Participate in community services.  Help plant a tree or cleaning up a community place.

9.  Smile always.

10.  Yoga, Meditation are very effective as well if practiced regularly

One method I found for reducing stress is some of the deep breathing exercises found  in a book called
The Science  of Breath. This book is in the public domain.  It contains all kinds of easy-to-master breathing practices for stress and controlling the emotions.  I think its one of the best no-prescription stress solution around.

I have just recently gotten back into exercise. I take water aerobics twice a week and I think it helps me reduce stress.  I can be in a bad mood and get into the water and start exercising and forget all about any stress. I am too busy trying to keep up with the class.   Also, working out at the gym helps me reduce stress.

The methods I use when I am feeling stressed are taking time out which means being completely by myself and doing something I enjoy.  Such as reading a good book, doing a jigsaw puzzle, gardening, listening and dancing to music.  Another method is doing yoga, highly recommend it.  It is simply fantastic for reducing stress and tension.  When I am calmer I try to have a good nights sleep.  I find this reduces the stress even more. I think everyone responds differently to stress and therefore need different ways to relieve it.  Personally, I resort to things I love most in life like music, movies and playing games with my family.  Focusing your energy on positive things helps to push out the negative.

Hey,

There are many methods to reduce stress. But, the one which has had the biggest impact for me is something called "shavasana" or "corpse pose". It is something I learned in Yoga.
You have  to lie on your back and spread your legs and hands at around 45 degrees and breathe deeply. The eyes have to be kept closed. Relax completely. Do not sleep off  Cheesy . Do this for around 10-20 min ( depending on how much time you can spare). And then, release the posture by stretching the whole body and exhaling.

You can just search the term "savasana" for more information.

This is really helpful after a bad day of stressful work.

Thanks,

A proper daily regime with adequate sleep and moderate exercise is definitely the key to reduce stress. However bearing in mind the hectic schedules and work pressure it is but difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  A few tips that can provide instant relief from stress is a good massage. You may either opt for a 15 min head massage with aroma oils available in stores or a body massage. Last but not the least a warm bath with aroma oils and soothing bath gels can do wonders in a short time. Cheesy

Taking things more slowly will reduce stress. Most stress in these developed societies is caused by high activity or tension, so just relax, take it slow, and you'll start to unwind. Learning how to stay still and concentrate on 1 or 2 subjects, especially through meditation, will sort out the wired jumble in any stressed person’s head.

Taking certain moments in the day or week to slow down will easily reduce your stress level and improve your health over time. You could swim, sleep, or just lie on the grass and look at the clouds. You could even cook, drive, or walk the dog - anything that is not too cumbersome!

Stress relievers can be as simple as just resting. Your brain being very active thinking about everything from what happened that day to what you have to deal with later can cause cause extreme amounts of stress, so with that being said simply resting your brain for a few hours shoudl eliminate it.

There are many ways to reduce tension and relax. Here 1 of the stress relievers I believe are most effective for the amount of work and time involved Deep breathing.

Deep breathing is an easy stress reliever that has numerous benefits for the body, including oxygenating the blood, which ‘wakes up’ the brain, relaxing muscles and quieting the mind.

just deep breath 10 times and your stress will be gone.
