Suicide is now the new "trend" in our community. All were students. And all did it in a different way.
Why do you think they did this? How can suicide be prevented?

I don't have firsthand experience with suicide but my opinion would be that suicidal people want to be heard and understood. Sometimes maybe all they need is some warmth and kindness which seems to be lacking in this world.

Suicide results from despair which is the giving up of hope. For Christians it is a mortal sin because it is murder-self murder. It arises from pride which itself is the number one mortal sin, the sin that caused Lucifer and his fallen angels to disobey God and to be cast out of heaven. When you are in the state of sin and are confronted with problems which you cannot solve and to the extent that your pride is wounded, the evil one is happy for you to die in that state so as to deserve hell like him. He induces and deceives you to take your own life as the only possible solution to your problems. When you yield, that further qualifies you as his sure prisoner in his kingdom-hell.
We should learn and teach others never to despair, never to give up hope, which is one of the three divine virtues-Faith, Hope and Love. It is very sinful to give up on God. We should call upon him when faced with despair.

I honestly don't think people who commit suicide care whether it is a mortal sin, not to say that all those people are godless heathens (though to the dedicated christian they might be), but sometimes people just give up. They see no other way out of a situation, or have lost the will to try anymore. So people decide to commit suicide because times are so bleak they have nothing left to keep them going.
Personally, it is their right. A right no one can take away, though we can try to stop them and should try to stop them.

I believe that people are finding that life is so much harder to deal with these days. Technology has gotten into our private lives and we find it hard to disconnect our minds from the power of it all. I think people need time and space, they also need loving and understanding. This world has become a very hostile place and many do not know how to survive in it.

I understand wanting to give up. I have been there. I feel it takes more courage to live than die. Nobody said this life was going to be easy, but my life has certainly been worth all the struggles I have gone through.
We all handle things differently, but personally, I feel suicide is not the way out. It's selfish and cowardly. The person who commits suicide feels that nobody understands the pain he/she is going through. We are not mind readers. We need those who are contemplating this act, to trust someone other than what is going on in his/her head.
I know what the pain is like. There is nothing that can stop the voices or the rantings of a diseased mind. I have lied in my bed and have felt so empty, so hollow and not knowing if I could live another day. I thought about it all the time.
As hard as it was for me, I sought the help of a counselor. I had never shared anything with anyone. My life was such a big secret. But the burdens and darkness left when I finally opened my mouth and poured out my soul.
It works. I am still here

Yeah I likewise experienced great amount of depression to the point of committing suicide. This usually occurs when I see my wife struggling to meet our daily needs especially that I am presently unemployed and no regular income. I hate to see my partner struggling very hard and me not being able to contribute something in terms of financials.
So many times I thought of ending my life to ease her burden but being a born Christian I still believe it is definitely a mortal sin to end one`s life by yourself.. In fact you are just expressing your weakness in your personality. Why not try to overcome your fears and worries and avoid getting depressed.
Life is still beautiful to cherish though how hard times are nowadays. Enjoy it and always think on the positive side and not otherwise. As I said earlier, I experienced being extremely depressed to the point of committing suicide especially when I am drunk and cannot think of doing smething right in my life.
Now I feel somewhat relaxed especially when you keep searching the web and look for something you can do like the work at home business opportunities which I am doing now .I encountered a site which seemed legitimate and workable and now making myself busy and set aside whatever fears there is in my heart. Have a nice day always!

"Suicide" - Its not just a word but makes the loved ones spend their rest of life in despair. Different problems, tensions, worries lead to this disaster. I feel people should be sensible enough to lead their life under the able guidance of elders.Decisions are sensitive and should be taken wisely.

There are many suicide cases in my country for several months now. It is sad that the economic pressure has brought some people to the despair and they thought there was no other way than to end their own life. I think pressure is the main reason some people decides to kill themselves. It can be economic pressure like what happened lately in my country, or maybe it is peer pressure for some teenagers. It is sad, but I think the closest people should be able to recognize the symptoms of despair, at least to prevent the suicide attempts when they're really desperate.

I do believe that suicide is the persons last resort but then what happens to the family that is left behind. For instance when a person's marraige falls apart and one or the other spouse decides that they have had enough or just out for revenge. Why when they decide to kill themselves do some of them decide to kill the children also. If people would just start listen to others l think that there would be less suicide.
