I am a self-professed horror geek, with a pretty wide range of tastes in scary film. I'm a sucker for the classics expecially- Universal Monsters-era stuff on up to just about anything with Vincent Price in it. I do enjoy modern films too, though. Some of my favorites:

Nightmare on Elm Street (the original, of course!)
Halloween (see above)
Night of the Living Dead
Evil Dead
The Descent
The Excorcist

I could go on forever, so I'll stop!  Wink
Anyone else?

Horror movies, to be honest, is not my favorite genre. But, I should admit I watched horror movies a lot, since people around me loves to watch horror (they even brought me to the horror movie festival in town). And so far, there are actually some movies which can make me literally jump from my seat while watching them, but most are just playing with loud noises to shock the audiences. Not really scary.
So there are some of horror flicks that I think is good enough to be watched:

Let The Right One In (Norway)
Black House (Korean)
The Ring O (Japan)
The Forth Kind
The American Haunting
SILK

Have you watched them?
