I would ask that anyone considering cosmetic surgery, be very careful. Investigate your surgeons and the procedures thoroughly. I almost didn't make it, spending three months in the hospital  for reconstruction after cancer. The procedure was only suppose to keep me in the hospital for a week. Needless, to say nothing went as planned. I am thankful of course, to be alive. But, I would have been happier if it was successful. I hope one day to try again, but will do a lot more homework regarding the staff. Just be careful.  Smiley

I do believe that cosmetic surgery is very addictive to people.  I don't completely agree with it unless it's a necessity.  I know someone who was in a severe bike accident and she had to have her face reconstructed.  If she didn't have that done she would've been disfigured.  I don't really agree with breast implants, I think you should be happy about what you are given and work it to your advantage.

I believe cosmetic surgery is an individual choice.  Having had breast cancer and a double mastectomy, I elected to NOT have reconstructive surgery as so much of my cancer had gone undetected by 6 different mammograms and 6 different ultrasounds.  I did not want to take the chance of having anything going undetected in the future.  I am happy with my decision.  However, I have a very good friend who was misrable with the looks of her very saggy neck area.  She was very unhappy and decided to have cosmetic surgery done after some lengthy research.  She is much happier now.  I really believe if it is something that truly effects your life and you have the means to change it, you should do what makes you happy.  You are the one who lives with the decision.

Many women and men overdo cosmetic surgery to the point they become a caricature of themselves.  At the same time, I do not believe there is anything wrong with wanting to look your best or enhancing your best features.  As an example, I have noticed fine lines around my mouth that are causing me to look stern.  I would consider a procedure to plump those grooves so that I would look the way I am, smiling on the inside!

There seem to be many people who are addicted to cosmetic surgery. However, I do feel that in some cases it is not only useful, but necessary. For example, someone who has been horribly disfigured due to an accident of some sort would really benefit from whatever help cosmetic surgery could give. There is nothing wrong with a small face lift or tummy tuck, but the idea of liposuction is somewhat frightening to me.

So many people have become "vanity addicts" that it's not even funny!  Unfortunately in our society, we  judge others  by how beautiful or handsome the other person is and can't get past that to see who the person is on the inside, as THAT is where you'll often times find the "true beauty." Very SAD!

Regarding to the topic, my personal opinion is that cosmetic surgery is just one of the methods to change the one  physically and also mentally.  Looking at the female breast surgery, I think it is addictive to various age of woman because they simply want to look more attractive in terms of aestheticism.  I don't really mind about taking fat from the body, I mean it is quite awesome to be able to be thin by simple surgery...
But I personally have negative opinions against facial surgery.  I understand that it is the individual's choice to do it or not but I think it is just wrong to easily change their face which is the gift from their parents...  Again this relates to the aestheticism.  Yeah, people want to take surgeries because they want to look better.  That's the answer I guess.

Cosmetic surgery is like a new diet, everybody is doing it, and if it works they continue to do it.  Cosmetic surgery, oftentimes changes a person completely, not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.  If people are unhappy with something about themselves, and they believe that  this type of surgery will make a positive turnaround in their overall lives, then I say go for it.

The acceptance of plastic surgery varies among people. Some people don’t like the fake, plastic look while other people promote it as a way to look and feel better about oneself. I am somewhat in the middle between these people. On one hand, I wouldn’t want to cut away at the natural looks that I was born with, and on the other, I wouldn’t want to feel self-conscious about the way that I looked. However, too much plastic surgery is absolutely unnecessary and repulsive because nobody should be going around looking like a circus freak!

Nobody is born perfect and some of the most beautiful people in the world have gotten plastic surgery. So the wide prevalence of this surgery makes perfect sense to me and it shouldn’t be going away anytime soon!
