I'm finally starting to lose weight after a lot of false starts. I bought the Alli pills because they are FDA approved and they absorb 25% of the fat you eat. I also got the Wii Fit Program and I exercise for 30 minutes every day. I think with these two products and LOTS of water, I will be able to lose the 20 pounds I want to lose. Stay tuned for an update...

I used to walk three miles to the bookstore regularly every other day or so, the pounds just fell off and they stayed off without any problems. Forget pills, FDA approved or not, good exercise is all you need to lose weight.

Hello everyone. From my point of view, supplements are wastage of money and time. Its human nature that he will try a supplement for a short time and when he find that it could not work,he want to change it and try another. That's why I never believe in any supplements and do my regular exercises like yoga and regular walk.

Wow, that is indeed a loaded question...... there are so many diets and tips out there for someone looking to lose weight, I should know since I've been on the roller coaster a few times myself. The best advice I can give you is:
1. Drink 8 glasses of water a day 2. Wait at least 2 hours between meals 3. Start listening to your body and eat only until your satisfied, not until your full. 4. Do some moderate exercising like walking Remember that it takes time to lose weight, be fare to yourself and don't expect to see results overnight. And always check with your physician before starting any diet or exercise program. Good Luck!

Exercise is great for those out there that can partake. For some exercise is just going to do damage until at least some of the weight is reduced. No matter how you look at it there is only one way to achieve weight loss - you have to be burning more calories than you are putting in. Supplements work for some people and even then not always forever. The answer is short and simple, reduce what's going in and the weight will start to drop off. Once its off, add some exercise and the eating can be less restricted. Its all about a healthy lifestyle in general.

I have struggled with weight my entire life, so recently when my sister and her husband made a lifestyle change i decided to do the same. I first visited my doctor and got a prescription weight loss med. Then i stared eating more fruits and veggies, and working out at least an hour a day. I started in May of 09' and so far have lost forty five pounds.

Weight loss- my life story. I agree with Katiejoy. The best way to start is to keep a food diary. You really don't understand what you are eating until you write it all down and it is right in your face. I have lost 13kilos in the last 4 months and I started out this way and the other most important thing that I did was cut my portion sizes in half. VERY IMPORTANT.

I don't have a tip but more of a suggestion for people to try or not. Who says we must all be twiggy's or diet to become as thin as we were when we were born. Our weight should be controlled for health reasons not to keep up with the Jones'. If you weight isn't over the top (far above the twenty to thirty pounds.) consider how you feel not how others tell you ,you should feel. Lose weight for you, if you don't like yourself no one else will either.
If you feel the need to lose, start small and grow as you feel better about your choices of what not to eat. What makes me fat may not make you fat. Keep a log of what you eat for two weeks . Weigh yourself each day at the same time and in the same clothes. At the end of the two weeks you'll be able to see what you weighed and what you ate. If you put on weight one day look to see what you ate that could have caused this. You can change how and what you eat by what you see in your logs. Good luck and like yourself no matter the out come.

I also think that supplements are a waste of your money.
The three things which I follow and which has helped me immensely are :
1. Controlling the quantity of sugar intake
I used to be a tea addict. Even though tea as such is good for your health, adding spoonfuls of sugar to the beverage was not helping me. Now, I have switched to tea with honey! It is not just tasty but such a healthier option.
2. Drinking water
When first I heard people suggest (especially, the celebs) that they lose weight by drinking water, I did not believe them. But, I decided to try for a month to see if it works. I would tell you guys- this is the best tip for losing weight in the long run. Drink as much water as you can!
3. Light exercise
I am not exactly a gym person. But, I have been doing half an hour of walking or 20 min jogging regularly. It not only freshens up my day, but also keeps a check on my weight!
Thanks!

Eating with a heart full of gratitude at regular intervals (every 2 hours is the consensus) along with regular exercise seems to do the trick for me. If i stick to this, eating not more than 75% of my stomach's capacity each time, it doesn't matter if i've been snacking on low fat biscuits or a bar of chocolate!

Losing weight can be a very difficult task especially for me since I love to eat. But of course, who doesn't want to lose weight? That is why I decided to cut down on eating rice, which is staple food for us Filipinos. I also avoid sodas and chocolates. I opted to eat more vegetables and fruits, attend Tae-bo and dance sessions at least three times a week. You may try those.

When I was overweight I did two things. First, I started walking every day, beginning with around the block, working up to two to three miles daily. Second, I began to eat smaller meals but more often during the day. That way I wasn't hungry, and the walking took off the inches and the pounds.
