Now adays it is difficult as to who is really talking to ones self. I was at a train platform last month visiting my son in Chicago.  There were three men
in my immediate area who appeared to be talking to themselves. I casually walked around their vacinity just to check. I only saw one man with
his blackberry pluged into his ear. The other two aek? The demark may be when the person tells you not to interfere with his personal conversation.
We talk to ourselves nonverbaly most all the time. It is the ones that talk out loud that attract our attention.   Grin

Talking to oneself is not as bad as scolding oneself for talking to oneself. There I said it and it all came in my mind so does that mean anything or does it mean we are all normal for ourselves. What is wrong ,crazy, or losing of ones mind is usually decided by someone else who probably can't talk to themselves as easily as us normal ones. Does the baby who babbles in the crib or playpen get blamed with mental issues. We all accept this as learning how to be vocal and its ok. Maybe anyone who talks to themselves is just being vocal too.

I talk to myself all the time too. I don't think that I am mentally ill but mentally ill people don't think that they are mentally ill.  I have whole conversations with myself.  I amuse myself constantly and find myself laughing out loud at myself.  I think it means that you have a lot going on in your head.   I really do it when I get mad, probably because I can't yell at people or express my anger directly.   It does run in the family though.

I talk to myself all the time.  I find it helps me to work out a problem or situation, depending on what is occurring at the time.  I think talking to oneself does not indicate you have a mental illness it is quite natural and normal but if you believe you are hearing voices and they are telling you to do things which are not appropriate, than you might have a mental illness, other than that no. Honestly I talk AND answer myself all the time, I don't reckon I'm crazy either. I mostly use it to organize my thoughts better and to manage my time. It seems to make me much more efficient, also since my mom does it as well, I've come to think it runs in the family. Then again sometimes I joke with myself too. It puts me in a better mood, nobody is a better friend and knows you better than yourself.

Aw heck, maybe I am crazy. Lol
